NIHB Testimony
Since 1972, the NIHB has advised the U.S. Congress, I.H.S., other federal agencies and private foundation about the health disparities and service issues experience in Indian Country. The future of health care for American Indians and Alaska Natives is intertwined with policy decisions at the federal level and changes in mainstream health care management. The NIHB is periodically called upon by entities to provide testimony regarding current health care issues facing American Indians and Alaska Natives. - March 12, 2012 – NIHB Board Member Rex Lee Jim Testifies at House Subcommittee Oversight Hearing:
On March 6th, NIHB At-Large Member and Navajo Area Representative, Vice President Rex Lee Jim of the Navajo Nation, testified before the House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs during its oversight hearing on the, “Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Request of the Indian Health Service (IHS) and of the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians."
