The Regulations Report is a product of the National Indian Health Board (NIHB). It is intended to provide a brief explanation and current status of the most recently published Final Regulations and Proposed Regulations by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Indian Health Service (IHS).
The report also provides information about the actions the NIHB is taking regarding the regulations and recommendations by the NIHB on whether comments should be submitted on a particular rule. In addition, when it appears that a rule is of particular interest to Indian Country a more in-depth memorandum summarizing the rule will accompany the report.
The NIHB drafts proposed comments for consideration by the NIHB Board and the CMS Tribal Technical Advisory Group (TTAG). When comments are submitted copies of those comments will be included in the subsequent regulation update report.
