This site is the national resource center for Tribes, Tribal Health Director, policymakers and others invested in implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the Indian Health Care Improvement Act.
Implementation of this new health care reform law, which includes the IHCIA, will take several years: however, several provisions are self implementing and many more provide opportunity for Indian Country to engage, guide and comment on policy as it is being made. It is important for American Indians and Alaska Natives to be well-informed on the law's effects on Native health, and the rights, responsibilities and opportunities presented in the health care reform law.
That is why the National Indian Health Board created this site.
