NIHB proudly celebrates American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Heritage Month in November. For this year’s Heritage Month, NIHB is adopting the theme of Hope and Healing in Native Communities. This theme shines a light on the needs identified and the strength exhibited across Indian Country during the COVID-19 pandemic. NIHB is hosting a series of virtual events, including a weekly video speaker series; sharing articles and social media posts all to honor AI/AN people, communities and culture; and hosting event like an Indian Health 101 webinar and a podcast called Hope and Healing: Words from NIHB. From November 16-30, NIHB is hosting a virtual Native marketplace providing a venue for arts and crafts vendors who are adapting to the virtual environment and inviting guests to shop and support Native talent.
