I was admitted to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Illinois on September 18, 2011. I don't remember much, but I do remember that my sister asked how high my blood sugar went, and the doctor told her I was over twelve hundred milligrams per deciliter.
The doctors in Illinois believed that I was type 1, so they placed me on insulin that I had to inject four times a day.
After moving to the Choctaw Reservation, I was placed on oral medication which I appreciated immensely. I continued my new diet and the walking that I started in Illinois. I also began counseling at Behavioral Health. In May of 2012, my medication was halved. A couple of months later, I was completely off of medication. In September of 2013, my case at Behavioral Health was closed. Since then, I have lived my life as if I'm free of disease.
Although I believe that everyone with diabetes can be healed of it, even I'm astonished at how fast my recovery was. I went from diagnosis to complete blood sugar control restoration in nine months, and have maintained natural blood sugar control ever since. I've been given a miracle, and I hope that others receive the same.
