8 states (and D.C) have been Conditionally Approved for a State Exchange from HHS Secretary

Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, Oregon, and Washington

Gary Cohen, Director of The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) said “The states with conditional approval have demonstrated good progress, and they have a plan and a path that we believe will get them to full operation of the exchange by Oct. 1.”

10 states have Sent Letters to HHS Indicating their Intent to Establish a State Exchange:

California, Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Utah
