On May 25, 2022, at 12:00 PM EST the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will be hosting a new monthly series on Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Continuous Enrollment Unwinding: “What to Know and How to Prepare, A Partner Education Monthly Series.” This series aims to educate the public on states restarting Medicaid and CHIP eligibility reviews that had previously been discontinued during the Public Health Emergency. This call will also serve as an informational session on how to re enter consumers into a health care coverage option if they choose to switch or lose their coverage through this unwinding process.
Tribal health care facility staff, Patient Benefit Coordinators and Tribal Enrollment Assisters should attend this call to learn more about best practices and any updates that may arise as the end of the public health emergency approaches.
The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) is actively partaking in the conversation with CMS, the Indian Health Service (IHS), the CMS Tribal Technical Advisory Group (TTAG) and the Medicare, Medicaid and Health Reform Policy Committee (MMPC) on Medicaid unwinding.
