Creating a standing awards selection committee

WHEREAS, the National Indian Health Board (NIHB), established in 1972, serves all Federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribal governments by advocating for the improvement of health care delivery to AI/ANs, as well as upholding the Federal government’s trust responsibility to AI/AN Tribal governments; and

WHEREAS, NIHB recognizes individuals, programs and organizations at the local, regional and national level with awards for their contributions to Indian health; and

WHEREAS, the awards are given at meetings and conferences held by NIHB; now

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that there will be a Standing Committee consisting of five (5) Board Members and/or Board Alternates, including one Executive Committee Member, to consider the nominations; and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the members of this Standing Committee will be nominated and affirmed by the Board of Directors to serve a two-year term; and

THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, the standing committee will review all nominations, select recipients and present their recommendations of award recipients to the entire Board for final approval.

Certification

The foregoing resolution was adopted by the Board, with quorum present, on the 13th day of August 2018.
