COVID-19

Introduction

The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) led a national effort to advocate and secure resources for Tribes to respond to COVID-19, seeking to ensure that the Tribes remained informed on COVID 19, had the resources and assistance needed to respond to the pandemic, and that Congress and the Administration understood and addressed Tribal needs and priorities.

Topics

– Act of Love

  • The Act of Love Campaign originally started out as a way to depoliticize wearing a face mask/covering at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It then transitioned into a way to encourage Tribal members to roll up their sleeves and get their COVID-19 vaccine to show their community an Act of Love. Today, the Act of Love Campaign encourages Tribal members to show their Acts of Love by keeping and practicing good public health habits, pandemic or not.
