The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) is excited to announce our 2026 Tribal Public Health Webinar Series! This series is part of our ongoing commitment to build capacity, share resources, and support Tribal Nations and the public health workforce across Indian Country.

NIHB will kick off the 2026 Tribal Public Health Webinar Series with:

Indian Health 101

Presented by NIHB CEO, A.C. Locklear, Lumbee Nation

This opening session introduces the foundations of the Indian health system: what it is, why it exists, and how it is tied to Tribal sovereignty and the federal trust responsibility. Indian Health 101 provides essential grounding for anyone working with or alongside Tribal Nations in public health.
